So whoever got off Legend of the Seas today and had the Grand Suite 16040, you left matches in a bathroom drawer. Shame on you!
I turned them in. Wanted to make sure they were disposed of properly. So now they know who you are!
KAREN LEVEL: 5/10 – While leaving matches in a bathroom drawer may not seem like a big deal, this Karen’s sense of entitlement and need to publicly shame someone for their mistake earns her a solid 5 on the Karen scale.
REVIEW: It seems like our Karen of the day was on a luxurious cruise on the Legend of the Seas, staying in the Grand Suite 16040. However, instead of enjoying her vacation, she was busy snooping through the drawers and found a pack of matches left behind by the previous guest. Instead of simply turning them in to the staff, she felt the need to make a public announcement, shaming the person who made the mistake. Talk about being a buzzkill on vacation.
SCORECARD: Entitlement – 2/5, Absurdity – 2/5, Pettiness – 3/5, Hypocrisy – 4/5, Escalation – 4/5, Overall Karen Behavior – 5/5.
PERFORMANCE: The subject’s performance was truly spectacular. Not only did she go out of her way to publicly shame someone for a minor mistake, but she also managed to make herself look like a petty and entitled individual in the process.
VERDICT: Guilty. Our Karen of the day is guilty of being a major buzzkill and unnecessarily shaming someone for a minor mistake.
OPINION: It’s a shame that this Karen couldn’t just enjoy her luxurious cruise without feeling the need to publicly shame someone for a small mistake. Perhaps she needs to learn to relax and let go of her need for control and perfection.
THE DEFENSE: Maybe the previous guest had a legitimate reason for leaving the matches behind. Maybe they were in a rush to catch their flight or had a medical emergency. Regardless, there is no excuse for this Karen’s behavior.
ZINGER: Looks like this Karen’s idea of a vacation is playing detective and shaming innocent people. Maybe next time she should just stick to playing Clue.
