Coyotes have unfortunately killed many senior cats near me, even in their own fenced backyards when let out briefly, as the owner did for 15 years with their cat. While some describe them as shy, I have seen coyotes corner my two neighbors who were walking their Rhodesian Ridgeback dog in the middle of the day. Their dog stayed still, and the coyotes walked confidently down the street in pairs during daylight. I lived in Central Florida before these invasive coyotes arrived, and I remember when there were families of opossums and raccoons, which are now gone. Our cats helped control the rodent population, not these invasive coyotes that climb six-foot fences to prey on small pets. Many families have lost their pets to coyotes, and the number is much higher than just two. While unleashed dogs can be a concern, there are no unleashed dogs running loose in this neighborhood, but there are coyotes that pose a real threat. Similarly, cars don’t cause accidents on their own; speeding drivers are responsible. I encourage you to get accurate information about coyotes and speak with my neighbors who witnessed their older cat, raised in their home, being tragically attacked and killed in their fenced in yard!! It is truly heartbreaking. It is against the law to let dogs run unleashed and they will be put down. Why cannot that go for vicious coyotes killing our pets in their enclosed yards?
KAREN LEVEL: 9 – This Karen is a prime example of entitlement and hypocrisy. She is using her neighbor’s tragic loss to push for the extermination of coyotes, without considering the impact on the ecosystem or the fact that humans have encroached on their natural habitat.
REVIEW: This Karen is on a mission to rid her neighborhood of coyotes, using her neighbor’s tragic loss as ammunition. She fails to acknowledge that humans have encroached on the coyotes’ natural habitat, and instead blames them for preying on small pets. She also conveniently ignores the fact that unleashed dogs can also be a threat to wildlife. Her argument is flawed and lacks empathy for the animals that have been displaced by human development.
SCORECARD:

– Pettiness: 7/10 – Karen is using her neighbor’s tragedy to push her own agenda.
– Hypocrisy: 10/10 – Karen fails to acknowledge her own role in the displacement of wildlife and conveniently ignores the impact of unleashed dogs.
– Escalation: 9/10 – Karen is pushing for extreme measures, such as the extermination of coyotes, without considering alternative solutions.
– Overall Karen behavior: 9/10 – Karen’s behavior is self-serving and lacks empathy for the animals and their natural habitat.
PERFORMANCE: Karen’s performance is spectacular in its entitlement and hypocrisy. She uses her neighbor’s tragedy to push her own agenda and fails to consider alternative solutions.
VERDICT: Guilty. Karen’s behavior is selfish and lacks empathy for the animals and their natural habitat. She is using her neighbor’s loss to push for extreme measures without considering the impact on the ecosystem.
OPINION: This Karen’s behavior is a prime example of entitlement and hypocrisy. She is using her neighbor’s tragedy to push for her own agenda without considering the bigger picture.
THE DEFENSE: While the loss of a beloved pet is undoubtedly heartbreaking, it is important to consider the impact of human development on wildlife. Coyotes are simply trying to survive in a changing environment and should not be demonized for doing so. Additionally, there are alternative solutions, such as keeping pets indoors or using deterrents, that can help prevent attacks.
ZINGER: “Karen, maybe instead of blaming the coyotes, you should take a look in the mirror and consider your own role in the displacement of wildlife.”
