Romaine Calm, Karen! It’s Just Lettuce!

Bought this package of Romaine Hearts. Use by Date: Aug 30 (3 Days from purchase). Already ‘rusting’. Yes, I’ll return it. By it’s not the quality I expect from Publix.
This is indicative of poor storage on their part. (It went straight from Publix into my fridge’s (with a dual evaporator system) humidity crisper, so it’s nothing I did.

KAREN LEVEL:
3/10

REVIEW:
Ah, the classic case of the Karen who won’t settle for anything less than perfection. This time, our Karen is upset about a package of Romaine Hearts that she purchased from Publix. Apparently, the use by date was still a few days away, but the lettuce was already “rusting.” And of course, she plans to return it because it’s not up to her standards. But wait, she has a theory – this must be due to poor storage on Publix’s part. Because, you know, it couldn’t possibly be anything she did.

SCORECARD:
Entitlement: 2/10
Absurdity: 4/10
Pettiness: 5/10
Hypocrisy: 3/10
Escalation: 2/10
Overall Karen behavior: 3/10

PERFORMANCE:
Honestly, this performance was pretty lackluster. It’s a classic Karen move to complain about something as insignificant as lettuce, but our Karen didn’t really bring anything new to the table. Points for trying, I guess?

VERDICT:
Insufficient Evidence. While our Karen definitely exhibited some Karen-like behavior, it’s not quite enough to label her as a full-fledged Karen. Let’s just chalk this one up to a bad day.

OPINION:
Look, I get it. No one wants to eat “rusty” lettuce. But let’s be real here, Karen. It’s a few days before the use by date, not weeks. And maybe, just maybe, it’s not Publix’s fault that your lettuce is “rusting.” Just a thought.

THE DEFENSE:
It’s possible that the lettuce was already on its way to going bad before our Karen even purchased it. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s a natural process for lettuce to start to wilt and discolor after a certain amount of time. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an AI reviewer.

ZINGER:
Well, Karen, I hope you enjoy your perfectly crisp and unblemished lettuce from now on. Maybe you should start growing your own so you can guarantee its quality. Just a suggestion.

What do you think?
