  • Leave me alone!

    Leave me alone!

Your tree is dropping leaves on my lawn.

    KAREN LEVEL: 8/10

    REVIEW:
This Karen is not only upset about leaves on her lawn, but she also expects her neighbors to control the behavior of nature. Classic entitlement and unreasonable behavior.

    SCORECARD:
    Entitlement: 9/10
    Indignation: 7/10
    Audacity: 8/10
    Unreasonableness: 9/10

    PERFORMANCE:
I give this Karen an 8 out of 10 for her performance. She really commits to the role of an entitled and unreasonable neighbor. Bravo!

    VERDICT:
This Karen’s lawn may be pristine, but her attitude is far from it. Maybe she should focus on raking her own leaves instead of trying to control the entire neighborhood.

    OPINION:
It’s no surprise that this Karen is more concerned about her lawn than being a decent human being. Maybe she should invest in a leaf blower or some self-reflection.

    BURN HER RESPONSE:
“Wow, I didn’t realize you owned all the trees in the neighborhood. Maybe instead of complaining, you should leaf your neighbors alone.”

  • There is a Leash Law

    There is a Leash Law

Orange County has a leash law. Your dog must be on a leash in public. The only exception is if your dog has been fully obedience trained and reliably responds to voice commands. We have multiple people in Delaney Park who seem unaware of this. It’s for everyone’s safety, including your dog’s. Watching your dog be hit by a car, or a speeding e-bike, is not something you want to experience. Getting sued if your dog bites someone may, or may not, be something you worry much about.

    KAREN LEVEL: 9/10

REVIEW: This Karen is on a mission to enforce the leash law in Orange County, and she’s not afraid to call out those who dare to let their dogs roam free. Safety is her top priority, but she also wants to make sure everyone knows she’s a responsible dog owner and doesn’t want to get sued.

    SCORECARD:
    Entitlement: 9/10
    Indignation: 8/10
    Audacity: 9/10
    Unreasonableness: 9/10

PERFORMANCE: 8/10 She may not have the best delivery, but this Karen is determined to make sure everyone follows the leash law, even if it means being a bit of a buzzkill.

VERDICT: This Karen may have good intentions, but her overbearing and self-righteous attitude is enough to make anyone want to let their dog run free.

OPINION: Karen’s concern for safety is admirable, but her approach could use some work. Maybe try a friendly reminder instead of a scolding next time.

BURN HER RESPONSE: Hey Karen, maybe instead of being the leash police, you could focus on training your dog to actually listen to your voice commands. Just a thought.

  • The Dog Barked at 2 PM

The Dog Barked at 2 PM

My neighbor’s dog barked for approximately 45 seconds at 2:17 this afternoon. I work from home and this completely disrupted my concentration. I have already contacted the HOA and suggested that my neighbor be required to keep the dog indoors during all daylight hours.

    KAREN LEVEL: 8/10

    REVIEW:
Ah, the classic “my neighbor’s dog barked for 45 seconds and ruined my entire day” complaint. We’ve all been there, right? No? Just me? Well, regardless, this Karen is not happy about the disturbance to her oh-so-important work-from-home concentration.

    SCORECARD:
    Entitlement: 9/10
    Indignation: 8/10
    Audacity: 7/10
    Unreasonableness: 9/10

    PERFORMANCE:
I have to give it to this Karen, she really went above and beyond in her quest for peace and quiet. Not only did she contact the HOA, but she also suggested a solution for her neighbor’s dog. Bravo, Karen, bravo.

    VERDICT:
While I can sympathize with wanting a quiet work environment, this Karen’s demands seem a bit excessive. Maybe she should invest in some noise-cancelling headphones instead of trying to control her neighbor’s dog.

    OPINION:
It’s clear that this Karen values her own comfort and convenience above all else. But let’s not forget that dogs bark, it’s kind of their thing. Maybe she should try embracing the chaos and using it as a white noise machine.

    ZINGER:
Looks like this Karen’s concentration is about as fragile as her ego. Maybe she should take a deep breath and remember that the world doesn’t revolve around her.

  • Move your car

    Move your car

When arriving home from work for some reason, Karen’s car was parked in my driveway. So I parked behind her crossways. Went to bed without thinking about the car again until four in the morning when Karen was banging on my front door to move my car. Through the DoorCam I told her I would move it at 8:15 AM when I went to work. Then fell back asleep to the rhythm of her banging on the door. By 8 AM found my car had been pulled into the grass and her car was gone. She left a note on my windshield stating I owed her $160 for the tow truck to move my car.

    KAREN LEVEL: 9/10

    REVIEW:
This Karen is on a whole new level of entitlement. Not only does she think she can park in someone else’s driveway, but she also expects them to move their car in the middle of the night just because she wants to leave. And then has the audacity to demand money for her own unreasonable behavior.

    SCORECARD:
    Entitlement: 10/10
    Indignation: 8/10
    Audacity: 9/10
    Unreasonableness: 9/10

    PERFORMANCE:
I have to give this Karen a 9/10 for her performance. She really committed to her entitled behavior, from parking in someone else’s driveway to banging on their door in the middle of the night. Bravo, Karen, bravo.

    VERDICT:
In the case of Too Many Karens vs. Common Decency, the verdict is clear. This Karen is guilty of extreme entitlement and unreasonable behavior. And for the record, Karen, it’s not your driveway.

    OPINION:
It’s truly baffling how some people can think they have the right to inconvenience others and then demand money for it. Maybe Karen should invest in some anger management classes instead of tow trucks.

    ZINGER:
Looks like Karen’s entitlement is worth $160. Who knew?
